Q: What are Pack 2146 and Pack 23?
A: Pack 2146 and Pack 23 are the Cub Scout packs for elementary school students from Suffern, Sloatsburg, Tuxedo and the surrounding areas. Our packs strive to offer a quality program where young kids can learn respect, discipline, develop physically and mentally, take on character development and life skills and most all - Have FUN!
Q: Why are you split into two packs?
A: Historically, Pack 2146 and Pack 23 have been separate packs. Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, they are joining forces to provide an awesome Cub Scouting experience for all elementary school students in the Suffern/Sloatsburg/Tuxedo area.
For nearly a century, Pack 23 has served students in the Suffern area, and in recent years comprised students who lived in the Montebello and R.P. Connor school zones. In 2023, Pack 23 merged with Pack 94, and grew to serve students who were zoned to Viola and Cherry Lane elementary schools.
For many years, Pack 2146 has been serving students in the Sloatsburg, Tuxedo and surrounding communities.
Q: How can my child join? Should we register for Pack 2146 or Pack 23?
A: Families in Cub Scouting are free to join any Pack they want. You may choose to register for the Pack that has historically served your child's school. You may choose to register for the Pack to which your child's friends belong. Regardless of which you choose, generally, students registered in either of the Packs will still be assigned to the same dens, attend the same meetings, and do all activities together.
You may register for Pack 23 here or for Pack 2146 here.
